Darwen mate.

There was no other indication of what it could be.

PCSO possibly or is that Tetra too?

166.76250 is Burnley shopwatch,it is the people that help or sometimes move the homeless people on when they take up pitch somewhere where they are not wanted which sounds like that you heard, hear it loads here in Clitheroe,it is analogue.

If it's CC08 then WTR would suggest this:

Viridor Waste Exeter Ltd
Pilsworth South Landfill
Pilsworth Road
PILSWORTH

If not then Preston University is another option. No DMR on their licence but may have been upgraded from analogue.

I can monitor this from Chorley and think it is University of central Lancs from Preston. The Ofcom site has the University on that frequency and sounds like security, locking up buildings etc,

Try http://spectruminfo.ofcom.org.uk/spectr ... ness+Radio and you'll find it's actually working fine and lightning fast.

It seems to be just the front page link that's bad.

Thanks guys.

Looking on WTR though this came up which is interesting:

And with the "Location and welfare check" I was originally hearing wouldn't that make more sense?

Preston definitely sounds plausible but why would they ask a welfare check? Seems more official?

I'll see if I can get it again though. First time I heard it the guy was talking about going somewhere, in fact I'd originally thought it was some kidn of engineer.
