Same here!

Would like to know about compatibility with encryption, but guessing will be the same as the MD-380, meaning no compatibility with Hytera and Motorola radio's.

interesting that only 1 single rotating know on the radio, I'm guessing for volume, and channel selection is done with key pressing?

Rumour is around £176 for the TYT.

Also Retevis say they are launching one under the "Ailunce HD1" brand.

This is the TYT DMR radio I'm waiting for

Not sure what has happened to it though as it was supposed to arrive last year. Seems that radios are announced way too early these days.
Wish they wouldn't do that. It's not good for your health having to wait for something. Me no like!

I am so waiting for a cheap Chinese mobile set that is dual band DMR Tier2 with 25w or more and has all the bugs ironed out, and I don't think I'm alone, TYT or someone could clean up here as the big boys have the market currently, but my dabbling doesn't justify their price.

Take a look at the new CS800D from connect systems - unless you want it to interwork using
enhanced encryption with an MD380/390 as the CS800D encryption is 72 bit not 128 like the MD380.
(source: the CPS software for the CS800D on the CSI website)

it has a nice feature that the DMR-ID can be persisted aganst a memory channel so you can merge ham and private
networks without resorting to 3rd party firmware or CPS

Unlike the Bumfeng debacle being tier1 only, the spec on the TYT suggests it's fully tier2 repeater compatible.

Looks as though the price could well be cheaper as Lynch now stating price will be anywhere from £149-£189. If it hits the shelves at £150-£160, it will not stay there for long!

Hi all,

If you want to play with the CPS and check the features you can now download it from tyt888.com

if youre wondering about audio quality etc there is a video of test calls on youtube (search "MD2017 test")

However, I have read elsewhere that there is an accreditation delay which could push production back to June
or July rather than the end of May . The message said that it was CE acreditation but nothing has appeared on
the FCC website recently - other than for an analogue dualbander which looks rather like the MD380

Nevertheless the existence of CPS at least suggests its out of development and getting ready for retail

Unlike the MD9600 :-( :-( :-( :-(
