What HF Antenna

Im open to suggestions on this topic.
I have a very small garden and have pole mounted my antenna's bolted to my shed, the bolts are fish plated through into 2X1/4 steel. I cant fix to the house as it is timber constructed with an outer skin of slate. At the moment I am using a trimmed for 10 meters Antron 99s, it will tune for 12 and 20, although I suspect not to much power is arriving at the aerial. I am looking for a vertical multi band that will give me 40 through to 10, if possible. The butternut's and Huslers are out of the question as I have no where to plant them. Any one have any ideas on a pole mounted multi band HF antenna, perhaps a GPA set at 20 and tune up and down, rather than from 10 as I am doing at the moment. Oh by the way cant do along wire as to get even a 1/2 wave out it would have to go up and down my garden several times.

Sandpiper MV-10. I have used one mounted ground level and up in the air between 15 and 20 feet and it worked a treat.

Diamond and Hy-Gain make some multi band verticals but I have never used one.

Alternatively buy a Cobwebb for 20 through to 10 and buy an Ampro 40 to go above it.

Thanks I will look at the cobwebb's I already have a Ampro 40 I use static mobile when parked on top of hills.

Also take a look at what was SE-HF360 as a cheap option, i have one mounted to a clothes pole in my garden results so far are good. Although i would like a cobwebb too as having read plenty about them they are very good.

my suggestions 1) cobweb
2) ten metre fishing/flag pole antenna with counterpoise
3) inverted L
4) if there is available space a loop

I use a Sirio 827 & my FT920 can tune it on 40m -20m - 17m - 15m - 12m - 10m, it's 4m off the ground and has managed VK's using WSPR @5w

I have a full size and a 1/2 size g5rv mounted on a fiberglass fishing pole with the feed point in the corner (coincidentally in the north).
Worked Australia and New Zealand on both with under 100w

Thanks for the replies, I have checked the suggestions out and decided to start off with a windom type wire. I got the Moonraker short 20m through to 10. I managed to get it up 25 feet and fitted a 10 wind 4.25 inch diameter balun, using mini 8 coax. It is running down my garden with the ends facing east to west and broad side on north to south. SWR is not as good as advertised but at 3 it 1 on all bands easely tuneable. I have only used it for 1 hour on Thursday afternoon this week as at this time of the year I have so much to do. Any way, conditions were prity bad with a high level of QRM on 20 meters, however I had 3 contacts, the first a 5 and 7 into Lithuania the second was a 5 and 10 over into Italy (No surprise there) and the third a 5 and 8 into Georgia USA. All in all for 40.00 a good wire antenna at only 10.5 meters long.

Thanks for the lead to the gwhip site, it looks very interesting, however my garden is only 9.5 meters so the only way I could accommodate the end fed 3 bander at 12 meters long is to run it through a isolator at 7meters and bring the 6 meters back and form a V. When they open again in January I will give them a ring and seek advice. The Windom fits simply as the total length is 10.5 meters but of course it is one third X 2 thirds fed, so the (Aproxamatly) 7.5 m run goes easely down the garden and the 3 m leg is at 90 degrees across the garden. Used it today for around 1.5 hours and worked 2 stations in Croatia, one being a YOTA, A YOTA in the Netherlands, a station in Hungary and one in the principality of San Marino. All giving 5 and 9/10 reports. However im still keen to look at the gwhip one if it can be inverted into a V. Once again thanks for the info.

I contacted gwhip and posed my question, as to weather the new 12 meter long 40 through to 10 end fed wire could be in a V or L shape. I got a very nice reply. But unfortunately it has to be straight, any bends or angles would put the resonance of the whole antenna out. Looks like I will be using the Windom. Such a shame as the gwhip is such a well constructed areal I would love to have tried it. Say lave

Ch25 Thanks for the link it looks a beast, I have decided to stick with a wire, after experiencing the moonraker windom type which I was quite impressed with,I decided to get the Gwhip 20 through to 6 windom. All I can say is wow. The build and material quality is superb , they produce there own baluns and not the bought in cheap ones, the wire is coated, every thing is supplied down to the ferrite cores and heat shrink to cover them in, all screws, nuts and washers are stainless steel. So down came the cheapy and up went the Gwhip version. First I checked the SWR. 20m, 10m and 6m 1.4.1 all HF bands between 20m and 10m 2.5 , very easily tuned. The next thing was approximately 70% less white noise than the cheap one. I put it up early PM on 18/1/17 and spent 1.5 hours playing with it on 20m and had 5 contacts including Finland, Serbia and one of the Greek Islands. I cheekily tuned it to 40m well out of its band SWR 4 to 1 surprisingly not that bad and had 1 contact into Germany. Any one looking for a short wire aireal, this is the one to have I thoroughly recommend it. Being an offset dipole with the long leg at 7.5 meters and the short leg at 3 meters it surely will fit most small gardens, especially as it can as I have done be fitted in a L shape.
