SDR#
Team, got a mew Realtek dongle, but can't get it to work. The computer, Windows 10 PC, sees it and knows its there, but when I run SDR# it tells me theres no device. Ditto with HDSDR.
I've done all the business with running Zadig for the drivers, negative result. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Fatty.

Re: SDR#
I'm talking HDSDR here Farty, I don't use SDR#, that may be different.
I presume it's RTL2832U based, so download the file.
And drag it into the programs top level directory, ie for my puter it's C:\Program Files (x86)\HDSDR

Re: SDR#
OK, might be getting somewhere.
On HDSDR when I go into the ExtIO bit is now shows the devices as RTL2838UHIDI. However, this is greyed out, and the direct sampling window beneath this is also greyed out, and there's a big green banner that says "PLL LOCKED"?
What am i doing wrong now?

Re: SDR#
Maybe you copied the EXT_IO.dll to the wrong place.
I am going to try this now on my PC see if I have any trouble, I am using HDR# as it is 100 times better with all the plugins and stuff that run directly in the software over HDSDR I prefer it but to help I will add HDSDR.
Give me a few mins

Re: SDR#
OK works on mine but nowhere near as good as SDR# seems to be bad reception on HDSDR it hardly recives anything SDR# is full of signals, probably a setting in HDSDR somewhere but it is getting a few things.
Anyway does your HDSDR programs folder now look like this.

Re: SDR#
OK it should work then.
If I were you I would try getting it to work in SDR# first then if you still want HDSDR you can try that, I just promptly uninstalled HDSDR again as it is rubish as far as reception goes on this computer anyway, SDR# has loads of stations even on the FM Broadcast band and all crystal clear in HDSDR it see about 2 stations with hardly any peak and when on them its like they are miles away loads of noise tried every setting now in HDSDR and my opinion is its rubish and probably the reason I used to think my Softrock Ensemble 2 was rubish I wish I had known about SDR# when I had my Ensemble 2.
My advice would be try getting things running in SDR# first and then try HDSDR if everything works in SDR#

Re: SDR#
If you have already done the zadig as you pointed out I will zip my SDR# up for you its all setup so all you will need to do is unzip it, open the folder and run it.
It will have my Frequencies and Categories saved in the Frequency manager you can either use than or delete them.
There are also some plugins already installed and for DSD+ to work you will need to install VCable but just leave that until you get everything working.
Like I say this is already set up so should work off the bat.
Will zip it up and try attaching it here, if the forum says the file is to big I will PM you a link to my server to download it from.
