i know its all been done before,, this is a first for me , yes it still works. cobra 148 gtl/dx. it was a real mess to look at when i got it .so transplanted it in to this,, and yes . rx and tx meters works still got some minor things to do :D

I remember the Excalibur, someone once asked me to mod one for them.

Something went wrong and it sat on the bench being a real puzzle, ISTR it would not TX.
Eventually found it was an electrolytic cap (ISTR C5) or something similar.
I fixed it, modded it and got rid soonest.

Although they (and the jumbo) are not much more than a rig and the psu etc in a big box I quite like them like that.

You have plenty of room in there for lots more kit yet :)

allways liked the jumbos and excalibur but can be a pain.just the case was given to me about a year ago ,then the cobra came along . looked a right piece of s***. its taken me about 4 days off and on to get this far, as for the counter Geogre i dont think i have the know how, thanks for your comments, guys,

I saw one of those on ebay except it was broken up into parts and sold separately :roll: lol I even messaged the seller to say it was a shame to break such a nice radio into parts to sell separately but oh well. If it was a whole unit I expect he would have got lots of bidders on it even if it was broken. Nice radios they are.
