Is it possible to determine date of manufacture from above serial number?
The first number is the year. 1981
The second number is country code/Taiwan

Could you possibly double check that serial number; it seems too late for an AA board. Is the radio a SS-360 or Cobra 148?

Yes it is defo the correct serial number. The radio has not been used 30 years and I got it from the person who bought it new in 1980. It's a 148 GTL DX
