Might be the Italian or Ukraine market. RigPix mentiones these two low-VHF radios:

Sweden also has this weird 33MHz(?) band.

Googling the TTi TX-410 also brings up interesting results, and all from sites with cyrillic writing.
Some sellers quote it covering "30-50MHz".
There is also a radioscanner.ru thread about it, in which people talk about their reliability in taxi service on 41MHz.

Tis interesting indeed. I knew about the Italian VHF band but not the Ukrainian.

I wish Olga would use VHF instead of CB/HF. Not just for our sake but for there's as well.

Yep, that would be preferable. Less Taxi Tatyanas on on CB/10m and less interference to them selves from legit users of the bands.
There would also then be something new to hear on low-VHF during lifts.

Cud always go the Clansman route.. PRC351/2 or the VRC353 with a bit more bollox about it...

Most HF plus 6 metre radios when "widebanded" extend the 6 metres section down to 49 Mhz and beyond, even the old FT690R 6 metre portable multimode covers it if "expanded", but I don't know of any radios specificaly aimed at the 49 Mhz band, that come as mulitimodes myself!
