Totally agreeRogerD wrote:To me it sounds like it's in the ham spirit to experiment and try to get the best out of limited equipment
Thru-hole is good, SMD is good as well, but boring.

Re: 49 MHz
Might be the Italian or Ukraine market. RigPix mentiones these two low-VHF radios:RadioPixie wrote:TTi have a 41 to 48 MHz 20w rig on page 9 of .pdf catalogue: https://simonthewizard.files.wordpress. ... g-copy.pdf

Dragon SY-5430
42.300-45.0875 MHz
For Ukraine market

Dragon MX-430

Maybe they are targeting something similar?
Sweden also has this weird 33MHz(?) band.
Googling the TTi TX-410 also brings up interesting results, and all from sites with cyrillic writing.
Some sellers quote it covering "30-50MHz".
There is also a radioscanner.ru thread about it, in which people talk about their reliability in taxi service on 41MHz.

This site has it on sale for 145eur:

This Latvian shop has it for 130eur:

Dunno if anybody needs it, but here's a manual for it http://www.radioscanner.ru/files/misc/file11705/
I sure won't be buying it, but interesting to see that such things are offered for sale.

Re: 49 MHz
Tis interesting indeed. I knew about the Italian VHF band but not the Ukrainian.
I wish Olga would use VHF instead of CB/HF. Not just for our sake but for there's as well.

Re: 49 MHz
Yep, that would be preferable. Less Taxi Tatyanas on on CB/10m and less interference to them selves from legit users of the bands.
There would also then be something new to hear on low-VHF during lifts.

I can get three out of five channels free nearby, but there is nobody on using handsets.

Re: 49 MHz
Most HF plus 6 metre radios when "widebanded" extend the 6 metres section down to 49 Mhz and beyond, even the old FT690R 6 metre portable multimode covers it if "expanded", but I don't know of any radios specificaly aimed at the 49 Mhz band, that come as mulitimodes myself!prettypolly wrote:cant you get ssb on 49 mhz ?? just curious..
