I know a few years ago when everyone moved over to Airwave that XW maintained their comms on analogue for a while. I think it was due to the terrain causing issues with Tetra.
Do they still use their old analogue channels or have they long gone now? They used to be crystal clear in Lancashire.
Is XW still active - West Yorkshire Traffic Police?

When the old West Yorks UHF system was done away with a good few years back our local antenna group adjacent to High House farm on Woolley Edge was taken down and i 'purchased' a huge pile of heliax feeder and several UHF four stacks.... Im not sure about who got the VHF folded dipoles an feeders off that site but i know most of the other sites have gone now... Quite a few were owned by BT an quickly removed when the rozzers went to Airwave....

Each force seemed to have a different policy on decommissioning.
Some removed antennas, equipment, cabinets, cable and dismantled masts. Others just pulled the equipment out and left everything else in place, possibly as it's cheaper than paying someone to to remove it.
