Police Scotland Helicopter
Just picked up the PS Helicopter on EDI APP 121.2 c/s Police 351 - hovering south of Arthurs Seat, Edinburgh for a prolonged period. Anyone got a reason why?

Re: Police Scotland Helicopter
Didn't know it was around then! I did see it South East of Arthur's Seat on Thursday evening just before the flypast! But I believe the callsign was Police 1? Had heard EDI reporting it near the airport, but eventually it dodged over my flat and on to what looked like Craigmillar for a bit.EDI reporting to the Copper Chopper of the imminent flypast!

Re: Police Scotland Helicopter
Callsign for the Scottish Police Heli is "Police 51" (UKP51). He is about a fair bit these days since he became the Scottish police heli as opposed to just the Strathclyde police heli. (He was down in the Borders this morning before coming into us for a refuel).
He always wears the Squawk 0057, for anybody that wants to planeplotter him

Re: Police Scotland Helicopter
Police 51! Must really pay attention!! It certainly gets around! I'd heard proposals for Police Scotland to have another "Copper Chopper" with a possibility of a full fleet of 4?

Not on their own radios, but airband is still clear.

They're talking about airband, fella...
Not much point trying to talk to ATC or other aircraft over Airwave.
