Hello all,
Many years ago I studied for an HNC in marine electronics and communications engineering which was basically a maritime Radio Officer course with all the morse code and operating procedures stuff taken out (the Radio Officer role had died a slow death by the late 1980s). I had the pleasure of learning, in minute detail, the workings of various wonderfull Marconi contraptions such as the Apollo main HF receiver, Commandant 500w HF main transmitter, Marconi & Kelvin-Hughes 3cm marine radar transceivers etc. etc. I've never lost my interest in maritime radio and trawl the web looking for nostalgic radio related sites - here's a few that I've found, I hope you find them interesting
