I'm west of Nottingham in a hole i want to climb out of one day. I was at the uni thismorning as i really want to get out to some place like dorket or alport.

http://www.heywhatsthat.com/
^ dorket alport and the uni are on this map. Just use the drop down menu, and click the button to highlight everything in your line of site.

Im not sure i should be on the threads map. I scan when im mobile, but other than that it would need to be arranged. Im up for a range check most nights though, with 60 mile views square wheeled.

both 27 and 466
Binatone 950's

If anyone uses other viewpoints they could add to this site ive linked. Helping me see if i can get to another hill perhaps. Waltham is not far. Plus there is more than me looking

Try some gain antenna which may well give you the same performance as if you had an antenna at 200 feet.

I've got mine at 50 feet above the ground, at about 10 feet above the top of the roof line, I get up to 75K away till the terrain slopes away over a rise in the terrain. I'm sure I can extend it even further by going more gain rather than height which I'm restricted in due to local regulations and an area where antennas are not exactly welcome.

Say, about 200ft and about 200W looks about right.

I've PMed my details so I should be appearing on the map soon, filling a gap in Buckinghamshire coverage.

Is it me or does everyone else find that if you print the map (I've zoomed it to my general area), the markers for each user don't appear? Perhaps there's a flag I missed to enable printing of overlayed items such as map pins etc.

Is there an equivalent map on TM1 for 27MHz Citizens' Band users? There is one at THUNDERPOLE CB Radio User Map so maybe we should use that rather than duplicating on TM1 if there isn't one already.
