Yaesu G 400RC Rotator Brake Disc

Post by jocklet »

Hi, can anyone tell me how you remove the brake disk from the end of the motor shaft on a Yaesu G 400RC rotator?, the brake has stopped working on my rotator, I have been in touch with Yeasu U.K. who have very generously agreed to send me a pad F.O.C. but they cannot tell me how to remove the Brake disk, the instruction manual is also of no use even though it does show an exploded diagram of the parts. I would suspect that other Yaesu rotators are similar, :?: :?:
Regards to all, Malcolm M6MOS.

Thanks for the reply, but the brake disk is far to thin to take a hub puller it is only about 1mm. thick and about 50mm. diameter with a small brass boss in the middle which is somehow fixed to the motor shaft, heat might be a thought but I will have to be careful in case to much heat is transferred through to the motor, worth a try though thanks,
