Wire Rope

Post by NoiseBoy »

Im after a reel of 100m or so of 4mm Galvanised Wire Rope for a crank up mast. Any suggestion of a good place to get it? Ive tried a couple and they have both quoted an outrageous figure for a courier to Jersey when they could use royal mail as they do for the mainland, at exactly the same price.

Second hand would be fine as long as its structurally sound.

Thanks in advance.

Ive tried them, they want more than £40 for postage on a £25 product.

It might be worth a try regarding the marine supplies.Failing success in the C.I,you could pop across to St.Malo.It would be day out for you.

Rope & Rigging
We stock all sizes of 3-strand, multi-plait, braid on braid, and Dyneema advanced ropes in a range of colours, all of which can be supplied with splices if required. You will also find a selection of light gauge stainless steel and galvanised rigging wire and a selection of thimbles and shackles. See our rigging loft for larger orders.

St.Helier.......http://www.southpiermarine.com/document ... isure_Shop

A place in Sussex is charging £51 for a 100 mtrs of 4 mm lashing wire rope, plus P&P

http://www.aerialsuperstore.co.uk/galva ... -538-p.asp

Or would 2mm wire be to small for you,200 mtrs for £14.95 plus P&P.This I presume would be of no use in the winch, but could be used as guy wires.
