SWL Broadcast Lookup

There are a few sites about that do this, but I like this one because you can set a tolerance of +/- 5kc, even with a digital readout PLL set it can sometimes be difficult to tell if your centre frequency is 9455 or 9450, and if you move the 'home' marker somewhere over the UK (or wherever you are), it will highlight the most likely station, and will give you other info like distance ATCF.

A very handy site for SWLs new and old.

If your receiver can flip between AM/LSB/USB if you are centered you should hear a reduced bandwidth version of the AM signal on LSB/USB. If you are not centered, you will hear a 'racket'.

This doesn't work to well on pirate AM stations, as their AM signal can leave a lot to be desired.
