Post by ryan_paul » 20 Mar 2007, 15:28

Dear all

Found this the other day its a real English manual for the Jingtong transceivers.
It makes more sense that the weirdo Chinese English manual it comes with.

Yes your right the link was wrong.
I have no idea how I managed that.

Its pretty useful to have a real English manual.

I have not played around with mine yet because I ordered the VHF and UHF versions and the UHF one did not have a battery. I am just waiting for the battery to arrive.

Also I have not go round to fitting a UK plug and dont like the look or the travel adapter that came with it.
cheers and 73

I've just used a travel adaptor i had kicking around. Im sure you'll be impressed with them though, when you consider the price they really are a steal.

Im sure you're aware of the poor TX audio though, as they forgot to put a hole for the microphone on the case, as hard as that is to believe lol i had mine modded though with a small hole drilled for the mic. If you want to know where the hole goes i'll find the website with the instructions or take a photo of mine. I've heard the audio on it now and it's not too bad at all, perfectly readable.

Thanks for the advice.

I read that there was not hole for the mic prior to ordering my Jingtong so I ordered a speakermic at the same time. Having said that I dont know how much TXing I will do with them. I was going to test them with some UK general radios we have at work.

Cheers.

I dread turning mine on for that reason alone lol always have to cover it with my t-shirt when i do lol i believe there is a way to do it but it involves removing a component inside or snipping a wire as far as i remember, i'll need to look it up and report back!

edit:

Just found this

Seems like too much hassle to me lol
