Anybody work G4RMT on digital? You haven't!

Post by paulears »

Just a heads up that somebody using my callsign seems to be active world wide on the Phoenix network, but particular in the Midlands area. So if you worked G4RMT on any digital mode, it wasn't me because 1. I live in Lowestoft the most easterly town, and 2. I'm not in range of any access point to any of the digital systems and have never made a single contact in digital with anyone! The guy in charge of the Phoenix network is going to ban his ID, so it's no real bother, but make me feel kind of like I've had my identity nicked - and it's weird! It doesn't matter, but it does! I found it by googling my callsign and found it in places it shouldn't!

And me, and I have an alarmingly similar callsign to you Paul. I have found my callsign on logs that relate to D-Star, and yup, never owned any D-Star gear in my life, and never used a DMR repeater with a D-Star reflector either.

Whatever happened to the chivalry of using dead mens calls to pirate?

My reports seem to have worked - all the contacts now have the G4RMT removed, and replaced with Pirate Paul - which is much more fun.

I shouldn't really care, because I don't hear it - but it's just a cheek!

Yeah right, this is a front for your pirating addiction, admit it.
