Have a mate of mine badgering me to get DMR. Apparently it's the future.
Anyone got a DM-5R, are they any good? I'm not prepared to spend silly amounts on digital modes unless it's DATV

Re: Baofeng DM-5R
The DM-5R is pretty much useless as an amateur radio as it will not function properly on a Phoenix or BrandMeister repeater because of lack of tier2, if bought in pairs then they're fine for cheap, private comms, but for everything else they're shíte.
The bang-for-buck set is still the TYT or Tytera and rebadged clones such as Revetis.
