DP3600 external antenna question

Postby acs » 22 Sep 2017, 12:19

I have recently purchased a Motorola DP3600 and uploaded a correctly configured codeplug for it.

I can access both GB7DD and GB7EE using the supplied antenna but the radio refuses to function when I try and access these repeaters when the unit is connected it to a vehicle antenna. The antenna works flawlessly with other radios.

Is this an 'operating feature' of the DP3600 and does anyone know of a work-a-round.

Thanks for your help with this

Andy

Hi Andy. Just to be sure, I tried my DP3600 with an external antenna once again and it performs like any other radio. My VHF one works perfectly with an external also, as does my DP3400.

I'd pretty much guarantee it's the adapter centre pin not making proper contact.
