Magnum Deltaforce

Post by satelitesid »

Me again.
Is the alignment instructions on CB tricks correct?
Do these things suffer from dry joints?
I have one here with the 4.500 oscillator at 4.4495, which is probably not helping. The 10.6975 will not align either.

Thanks

what i do set the radio as per service manual to get me in the ballpark if its been screwed over

set the usb lsb 10.695 by ear you want an equal sound to the both
usb l126 set for max bass in the rx audio and then turn to the highest tone, find a rough middle point then edge on the lower side a bit (this will give a nice audio but not too muddy or tinny sounding then tune the lsb to match l127 the tone of usb by toggle between usb and lsb , forget about am /fm at this point

set the radio on 27.550 clarifier at 12 oclock get a known good radio thats on frequency transmit on the test radio at min power and tune t101 and zero beat the feed back

same for rest

t106 27.551
t103 27.552
t104 27.553
t102 27.554

switch to lsb and confirm a slight adjustment of l127 may be needed
switch to fm tx with a counter connected radio set to 27.555 adjust l124 to set frequency.

if you cant make any of the adjustments and they dont alter the frequency you will need to start fault finding .

the above is a minimal was to setup the pll accounting for changes in component tolerances
