Isn't it better to use electret capsule? Small modification needed, but much better effect. That's what i usually do because of crap sounding dynamic cartridges.

Never heard of them Chris. Will take a look and see if I can do this.

Will see what Google throws up as I have now about 5 to replace.

Cheers Chris, still will continue looking for as is fitted though incase the mod is complicated or too fiddly.

Chris are you aware of a YouTube or similar link I could views to watch the process of fitting such a mic into a regular cb hand mic .
Cheers

I have just see a video on roughly how to do it.
In this video the guy fits one to a president mic.

Now is their a suitable live wire inside cybernet mics and simular ?.

I know I need the electret units, a resistor and some other item ?.

Would someone put up a link to the suitable components I can buy to make these up please.

Chris this looks blooming fantastic and even I believe I could do it well.
If this works out I will be chuffed to bits.

You guys know some very clever useful mods.

https://components101.com/electret-condenser-microphone
Resistor and capacitor inside radio, 5-8V from internal regulator, every radio have it.
Done.

Cheers Chris.
I think I have just saved all the items which are listed in the link to my watch list.

Will order then tomorrow when I am sure I have the correct parts as you linked too.

I think the speaker were 10 for just over a quid.
Resistors 100 for quid
Capacitors about the same.

That's a silly price compared to what new mic or diaphrams would cost.
I'm surprised someone hasn't put these together for diy novice peeps like myself to just revive old mic and solder two joints with instruction sheet for their suited mic.

I am going to be looking for a mic lead patch from a cybernet mic 4 pin to a 5 pin din cybernet plug for older radios like the midland 100m and colt 210 I have.

Cheers Chris.
Appreciated.

Use some foam as on attached image to avoid "box" effect on your audio.

Ok Chris ,I think I have got my head around how to connect the bits the right way around .
Bits are now ordered.

Can't wait for them to come now and get one sorted.
Once I have done it the first time I will be more confident .

Will sort some suitable foam out too ready.

This will be great if I can do it ,even the two quiet mics I have I may do also only because tbey are very quiet on tx audio.

Thanks again .Will update as all bits arrive ready to undertake the job.

Ok Chris if you please.

I now have all the parts arrived to make the mics .

I have looked at the diagram in link .
Now on a standard diaphram it has a wire in and one out only two wires.

The image on the link for the electret mic guide as it looks to me has 4wires .

Is their a easy way in layman's terms you can explain to me how to wire it up .or draw me a diagram how too simply.
Gonna try and do one in the week hopefully.

Thanks again

I asked about radio, because cap and resistor have to be installed inside rig.
Mic you just put instead of dynamic capsule. Pay attention for mic polarity.
