Modifications within 360FM

Post by radiogaga »

I have these three modifications inside a 360FM (PB010AB).

At the SWR Board is this:

The Radio had the SWR Cal converted to variable power. I'm guessing the resistor was park of this hack.

Possibly connected, does this resistor usually sit on the SWR/CAL/SRF switch or is this too part of the same hack.

Also, what purpose is this diode ????

Thanks

Anyone have an idea on the SWR board and SWR switch resisters, Pics 1 and 2 above?

Cheers

When you modify swr cal to be power adjust, you have to add some resistance to preserve swr readings to be working.
When modified, you calibrate by adjusting power. Works fine, I've done it many times before in similar radios.

So are you saying the resistor on the SWR/Cal/RF switch is aftermarket or the resistor on the SWR Board as highlighted by Claude?

I don't see either on the schematic but neither appear aftermarket.

The resistor on the RF/SWR switch is definitely aftermarket . As Chris already said , it was put there when the SWR CAL/Power mod was done on the radio . I don't have my radios handy , but the one on the SWR board at the back seems to be stock , according to Claude .

Bit further your way is Pedreguer (Just of the N332), on a Sunday. That's close to us. I've seen a few handies and AM radios there.

Yes that's a good one.. long walk around all the stalls.. takes a day to get around. I think it requires another visit this summer :)
