Rm 203 set up

Post by original45 » 08 May 2018, 18:42

I had bought this some time back now and will set it up soon .
My question is I can remember back in the 80 s I had a cte model and I'm sure if I remember correctly if you had linear set up to the radio and antenna you had to have a constant power to it to be able to use the cb radio whether or not the amp was switched to on .

Something about damaging internals in amp.

Is this the case with the 203 if it's all connected up and I use my radio does the 203 require it to have a 12v input supply live to it to use the radio with amp not running but still connected to radio antenna.

Thanks

You can have 203 inline without power connected to it.
Chris
You can't have too many antennas...

From 1980's memory, if it's got a power on/off switch on it, you can usually use it connected whilst not powering it up. Those without a switch, usually have to be removed if wanting to use the radio "barefoot".
