The radio should have a 15.360 as it is Mid band with the binary adders adding Low and High bands, To find an original 15.360 that will give you its original coarse slide will be hard unless you can find a scrapper with same board.
but the radio is rock solid and bang on frequency. Nearly no drift! Amazing.
This particular radio is notorious for drifting, In your case it may be because it has wrong crystal with only 2kc slide, The less slide the less drift, If you were to find the original crystal and get your 6kc plus and minus slide then you will certainly experience drift.

Edit:
I have one of those boards in my scrap bin but i dont remember if the crystal was on it or not when i got it, I can have a look too see if i have it.

Hi friends,
Sorry, was busy last two days.
Nick, thank you. That would help me a lot. Today the Uniden 14.910 xtal arrived. Now USB alignment is possible without problems, but coarse slide is aprox 3 - 3,5kc.
Radio is still very stable, but if you find the xtal, give me messege, pse.

I have just gone through my tub of crystals and i found two that could be the correct one, Firstly though what bands have you got with a 14.910 ? Because if it is Low, Mid, High then the 15.360 will be Mid, High, Hi.Hi and to get Low band back some diodes would have to be rearranged.

The two 15.360 i have one is marked MTCL the other STL but i am 99.9% sure both came out of the 3900 type board you have.

Your welcome to both if you want to try them.

Hi Nick!
Excellent news! Yes, i would try them. I found out that low mid high works with the 14.910 fittet, but coarse span is narrow, round about 3-4kc only.
Maye that's the reason it is a hi-band version in original.
So 15.300 would give the radio mid, high, super high.

Whats your price for both xtals incl. shipping to Germany?
How can i pay? Paypal?

Ralf is there any chance you could take a picture of the pcb where the channel switch wires go or tell me which colour is in what number on the pcb?

I have a Petrusse base in for repair and it has the same chassis as yours but somebody has been messing around with the wiring and cutting tracks.
The diagram i have doesnt match this board layout so it would save me lots of head scratching if i had a pic of a working one. This ones all over the place as it is

Hi cubwolf .

Don't know if it's of much help , but I marked the channel selector wires on my previous Franklin thread here . Blue dots .

http://transmission1.net/viewtopic.php? ... t=Franklin

President did a real botch job when making the Franklin 5 bands . A bit like the HI BAND on the Adams . Yours is probably the same . That's why the tracks have been cut . That 11Z pcb is only designed for 3 (one crystal) , or 6 (both) bands . I never ever found an official wiring diagram of how the underside was wired up for the 5 bands . Think Claude sent me a photo of the underside of it , and it wasn't pretty . Most of my wires had already been removed when I got mine . So I removed them all and started from scratch . I added the 2nd crystal on mine and made it a proper 6 bands . I'm not at home just now so I can't tell you which channel selector wire goes where , but it shouldn't be that hard to figure out . Mine was a standard 91 to 135 selector . My wiring colour is different from yours , so a photo probably won't help you much . If you do manage to get it back to 5 bands then let us all know the wiring .

Cheers Sammy.
This has 5 bands as standard and i dont think the hack job was original.
It was more like a 10m mod gone wrong.
This uses the EPT360010 board like the superstar in this thread.
I have a petrusse manual but as you say the diagram is wrong.
The diodes are marked incorrectly

I will have a look for the Franklin A

Crap !! Sorry about that. I'm losing it here. I've been talking garbage for the last month now. I'm getting my 10s and 11s mixed up. That's what happens when you are away from your radios for 12 months 😀It's kinda weird but the 11 is earlier than the 10. Anyway. Got it now. The 10 is used in a lot of the 5 band radios , like the Ronald etc. I'll need to go back and re-read this thread now 😀

Hi cubwolf .

I've read this thread again and I think you may have your 10s and 11s mixed up m8 . This SRT-3600-10 pcb is the same as the EPT360011Z , and not the 10 . The 3600 is a 3 band radio . Not a 5 . Claude started off my saying that it's an 11 clone . I also jumped in talking about the 11 , although on page 2 I made a mistake by mentioning the 10 . But all my comments were related to the 3/6 band 11 . If yours is definitely a 5 band EPT360010 , then it's not the same board as this SRT-3600-10 (EPT360011Z) m8 .
