HELP! Ranger SS-158-EDX L8 coil 12495 or 12495 replacement needed!

Post by rpcomms »

Hi has anyone got a scrap ranger or galaxy board with a mixer coil L8 7mm type?

was just finishing off a NEW Ranger USA SS158-EDX-EU version 2.0 too start evaluation testing it
and damm core broke on final alignment (think it was already done in factory was stiff as hell!)
,tried repair but coil had gone Open circuit too and is a loss!
so need a replacement one if anyone can help me?

seem's two part numbers for the L8 10.695mhz mixer\IF coil

one on schematics says ECIFT12492 transistor type
on the mosfet schematic ECIFT12495

as schematics on cb tricks show mosfet version and transistor version
part number in service manual slightly different
I have the mosfet version here.

http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/rci/ss_158edx/index.htm

Any help appreciated as dead in water without one and like to get this EU version (set-up\modded) up and running for tests on air.
this version address all the niggles from out the box,ill post more once i can get set back up and running.

Regards

rfparts also supply a range of spares for Galaxy radios. Most of these use Ranger boards.

I usually rewire broken coils. Try, it's easy to repair.

why not PM lbcomms that is a member here. she can give you some pictures of rebuilding the coils if she has time to do it. she posted a bunch on cbtricks a few years ago but the site has been down the past 8 or 9 months and I can no longer pull them up any more.
search her postings on this site and if nothing there PM her.
