Rx frequency test point Major M588
Is there a test point that you can pick up with a frequency counter the received freequency in the Major M 588 please. Save keep keying the tx to find out where things are.

You can't do it with a regular (bench or handheld type) frequency counter, the reading will be about 10.695 MHz too high. The radio can't generate it's operating frequency while receiving, otherwise it would receive that signal and prevent it from hearing anyone else on the channel.
There are special counters made for that purpose though. They do the maths for you (subtracting the extra 10.695 MHz) to display the actual frequency the radio is operating on. Last time I fitted one the owner said he'd paid $130 (about 75 pounds) for it. It was bought off the USA eBay site.
