Cant put up a link for some reason but I typed in "CRT 9900 access" into Google and it came up with a pdf download of the instructions.

Not sure if this'll help if you've already got them???

It hasn't got a link wire inside which needs to be cut like on some variations of the Lincoln 2 has it?

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

Do the buttons work their usual functions?

Just wondering if a squirt of switch cleaner might help? It is a new radio so I doubt it is something so simple.

As mentioned, it might be a link or a jumper jobbie.

I just about know how to operate a Fidelity 1000 so I'm certainly no expert! ;)

This is probably the PDF that The Collector is referring to, but I suspect you're already doing this.

But sorry, I am no use either as I have never laid my grubby mitts on one of these.

I've tried the service menu button combination and it does not work on my V2. In fact, pressing these buttons on my radio prevents access to the menu system full stop. I get an error whenever I press and hold the menu button. I have to power off and on again to clear this.

It looks as though you may have a V2 like me. Can you confirm what version you have?

On the PDF Admiral has kindly linked to the V2 Access implies the following as I see it (you may see it differently ;) )

V2 2014 08 07

Power Off Status (assume that means the rig is powered off?)

Press [MENU] for 3 Seconds then Press [BAND]

Turn [PUSH] to select BAND

That's how it reads to me, sorry don't have one in front of me to check.

Or it could mean.

Press [MENU] for 3 secs.
Ignore [BAND]
Turn [PUSH]
Select BAND

This site has more information> http://radioaficion.com/cms/crt-ss9900- ... djustment/

I think the PDF is how to expand the frequency coverage, not enter the service menu. The information on the radioaficion site was what I used but it did not work for me. I'm also dubious about a version 2 being available in 2014. Almost certain the V2 was late 2015, early 2016 although I could be wrong on that one.

@Kilimax

Yep, could be. You will likely know more about them having purchased one. I don't know what the op is trying to do as they just say "press" or "hold" 2 buttons.
The post from the link is from Feb 2015 so may be to early to be V2 as you say.

I'm not sure if this thread is any use or a red herring as you possibly have a newer version. Check the video he links to as well.
