Re: LINCOLN 1 EXTENSION SPEAKER ???
The other option is to have a 3.5mm socket fitted to the rear of the radio.
This isn't one of my radio's by the way, just an image off google.

Yeap . That's an option also . In fact my boxed Lincoln has the 3.5mm jack fitted . It's not a mod that I would normally do to a radio (drilling) , but the guy who did mine did a good job .astradyne wrote:The other option is to have a 3.5mm socket fitted to the rear of the radio.

Fitting a multi plug connector instead of proper sockets to the radio was a penny pinching exercise on presidents part if you ask me,
I Am the great cornholio are you threatening me ?

Re: LINCOLN 1 EXTENSION SPEAKER ???
I think they saw it as a way of saving space , as things would be pretty crowded with 3 x 3.5mm jacks on the back . I think they should have made one 3.5mm for the ext. speaker and the molex plug for the PA and CW as nobody uses them much.Buick Mackane wrote:Fitting a multi plug connector instead of proper sockets to the radio was a penny pinching exercise on presidents part if you ask me,

They got it right with the HTX-100 though. Much better design.cb4ever104 wrote:I think they saw it as a way of saving space , as things would be pretty crowded with 3 x 3.5mm jacks on the back . Re: LINCOLN 1 EXTENSION SPEAKER ???
Yeah Andy . I forgot about the extra space you'd gain without the molex plug That looks much better , and the 3 pin power socket is a + as well .
