Does it matter where the resistor goes within the length of wire in both cases? or can it go anywhere i,e in the middle of the 8v wire
Thanks
I've always solderd the resistor directly onto the pin on the IC and run a wire from the other side of the resistor directly to the switch.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!
Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...
I usually solder half the wire to pin 9 . Then add the resistor in the middle (with heat shrink) and then more wire to the middle terminal of the switch . The other ends of the switch will be 8V and earth . That way the resistor will always be in series regardless of what the switch position is .

CAN A MOD EDIT THIS PLEASE AS I CANT!
solder a red wire WITH A 1K RESISTOR IN SERIES to constant +8v on front of pcb right by the swith or (pin 16 of either of the 4008 adders will do ic5/6 (9dx) ic301/302(fdx))
THANKS
Done, let me know if I've messed it up at all.
