SS 3900 Black Low audio on T.X

Just got back from a D.X call.Good Q.S.O's but all commenting on strong signal but quiet audio on T.X.Anyone know which V.R adjusts the mic gain on the SS3900?

Which mode. AM/FM/SSB ?

As you don't state what mode will give the settings for am and fm
AM
First set the output power to 5watts with vr13
(If you crank this flat out am audio will suffer bad)
FM use vr5 to get about 2-3khz on a dev meter
(Or in English ..crank it to get the fm audio louder ) tip get a m8 on the air to listen to your audio with the roger bleep on,crank vr5 until the bleep starts to distort then back it off a little <<<<hillbilly way

Hi .

As mentioned before . First reduce your power to 4W deadkey . If the power is too high then you won't be able to fully modulate the carrier . Then , using a modulation meter , increase the AMC VR which I think is VR14 (should be marked) , until you have around 90/100% modulation on a whistle .
