It's just a standard EPT3600XXX 3900 board inside , with the external counter .

My galaxy saturn is a early dirland model with a board numbered EPT360012B would this be the same as a S/S 3900 ???

Yes, it is the same board as a Dirland 3900.

The spectrum 3900 one works fine and reads correctly on the freq display.
