Had a look at relocating the 33k surface mount resister to open the bands this eve .
Yeah right lol.....
Its like trying to desolder a sesame seed with an elephant foot ..
I think im gonna buy an old school resistor and use that . Lol

Yes Admiral . I have managed it that way . A trip to maplin and 29pence later lol.
On the pic the short end of that resistor all those contacts are shared so i kinda soldered to all. as i wanted it secure for mobile use also . Didnt want the pcb track lifting with any vibration .
It really looks bigger in the pic but the contact to solder is about a quarter of a pin head in size.
Anyway . Tested and working . Reports are good . If i was fussy i would say the knobs on the magnum 1 are like toothpast tube lids (ribbed) and feel awful but apart from that im very happy with this radio . Its a keeper
