Anybody got experience of repairing one of these?
I know this is the CB section, but there doesn't appear to be a "I blew up a Yaewoodcom" section.
Came to me with the fault of "deaf", and by George, it is.
I replaced the ceramic filters, as a known fault on these, and I had the covers off anyway.
I did a bit of digging, and the two resistors for the 20dB attenuator are blown to pieces, which leads me to two possibilities. A chunk of lightening has fried them, or the other alternative, somebody has stuffed RF up its' antenna socket. Pity he didn't tell me that before.......

By injecting -20db at antenna socket, I can hear it, down to about - 40. Usually on these I can hear it to at least -115 or so.
What is significant is the attenuator now doesn't work (resistors replaced) .
There are apparently some protetion devices in place, RSL245 and VO8G, but I must be honest, not sure how these work.
Looking for a little help, if anybody knows usual repairs for said problem.
Incidentally if I squirt the signal in to the relevant filter, it is fine, so fault between antenna socket and filter board

Is the the same on all sockets, including the RX only one (maybe needs to be selected in the menu?)
A while since I had a 2000. Bit deaf when perfect, but nowhere near that bad!

Yes.
All sockets show deafness.
One of my problems is understanding the menu system. I don't like menus, much prefer tactile radio sets.

VHF and UHF are fine, and sub RX seems ok also.

Theres also the auto tuner, which can be set to operate in RX mode too I think from the menu..
Maybe worth the big fat reset (A=B and ON at same time) ?

Any chance of resetting to factory defaults and working from there? If the menus have been fiddled with, then figuring out whats wrong and where could be horrendous!

Both are by TRXBench. I find his videos very interesting and he's certainly got some good test equipment available.
