Post by andrew013 »

right i have a richard that is a pb010ac cobra148 gtl dx mk2 clone or what ever you want to call it ,

Maybe someone has changed the main crystal in your Richard. I'm pretty sure mine does +/- 5-6 kc

Mine also does 5/6khz each way . Might be worthwhile trying to swap your crystal for one from another radio , Maybe it's "Q" is a bit more rigid than it should be . At least I think it's the Q factor . Better go check on Google ... :) If it's not that then it might be the varicap diode .

Is it marked "UNI" on it? a 15 MHz generic crystal is different.

Doesn't need to be the same board . Any EPT36 SS3900 , or similar board will do . Start with the voltages and resistance on the COARSE control and work from there .

Just found this on the secret CB volumes via CB RADIO MAGAZINE website. It works absolutely spot on.

I skipped 1-3 and just put a jumper over R232 I now get plenty of slide on the clarifier.
Very happy. :D
