My SS 3600 is a Hi Band version with SRT-3600-10 board with sticker on the back and on the PCB. Three band version, same as SS360Fm. So there are maybe more variants out there?
Maybe it is an early Ranger RCI product?
The fitted 14.910 xtal in my radio is not original for sure. I played a bit with the mixer to get the radio work on USB, but now it sounds very bassy. Slide is low with coarse, only round about 2.5kc. Another indication of a non original xtal x2.

Hi Ralf .

That's interesting . That being the case I'm wondering what frequency the "LO BAND" version covers ?? I'm thinking that it's a an early Ranger board (83/84) , before they started using the EPT prefixes . As Claude already mentioned the "SRT-3600-10" you have is the same as the slightly later EPT360010Z board that Ranger started producing around 86 (more or less) . I don't know about the right crystal for that model .

I've found a HI BAND version close to me that I might buy. However I'm now more interested in finding out what the LO BAND one does.

It is when you have one thats been hacked about :-)

Currently trying to get this Petrusse Base back to spec but as you say the diode numbering is wrong even on the petrusse diagram.

Headache job :-(

Yeah . That's what my Franklin looked like before I started too :) Luckily I had a correct component layout diagram for mine . So with that , and mixing 3 or 4 other schematics together I managed to figure mine out . The best fun I had was that there were missing holes on the pcb , and no component identification transfers on parts of the board .

Thanks to Nick for sending me the 15.360 xtals. I will check what will happen. Expecting that bands will change to Mid, High and super High. Hope that the Clarifier range will rise to +/- 5kc.

Small Update...
I fitted both 15.360 into the 3600. The first one drifted like hell, but the second seems to match. Normal drift from cold to warm round about 270hz. Then good stability. Clarifier now goes up +6kc and down a lot more down on USB and LSB. Will check more later, but result is excellent.
Now the Radio is a real Hi Band version from 26.515 to 28.305.😉

Thought you'd added another band there while you were waiting for the crystal to arrive :)
