2sc2166 replacement

Post by alexthegasman »

could anyone tell me the best direct replacement for one of these transistors please? it's to go into a galaxy pluto, dual 2sc2312 outputs. The two finals are showing ok on my dmm, using the diode test method, but the driver is showing a short, so i'm suspecting this to be the problem (only 2 watts output). everything else on the radio works ok. Thanks for looking :)

Maybe these are the real deal, worth taking a chance. Make sure you pay by paypal though in case they could be fakes.

Thanks all for the advice, i've seen one or two of weazle's vids, and it seems he swears by 'em. I'll let you know how i get on. Just one other thing, i had this radio in not for the power problem, which was discovered later on, but for the freq counter which was flashing zero's for a few minutes before reading properly. Turns out it was R625, a 56ohm on the back of the board which had gone low value. Just in case anyone else has this issue. Thanks again for the info.

I have read on a couple of forums the replacement 2166's are hard to set-up and also don't last as long, just fit an original they are easy to source no need for alternatives.

where do you get yours from Clint? have you got a trusted seller, or do you fancy selling me 1 or 2 from your own stocks?? ;) ;) ;)
