purchased a mk2 last year have had a lot of work done to it a full recap any component that needed replacing has been replaced serial no13010809 with a pb010ab board bezal and cases are in very good condition totally unmodded

Is it possible to determine date of manufacture from above serial number?

The first number is the year. 1981
The second number is country code/Taiwan

Yes it is defo the correct serial number. The radio has not been used 30 years and I got it from the person who bought it new in 1980. It's a 148 GTL DX
