Expensive Boat Anchors v New Equipment

Post by Dan13l »

Looking about I expected a 20 year old radio to be 30-60% of MRRP, could someone explain to me where I am going wrong or a good place to look please, currently new with interest free credit and a large deposit looks a more attractive option.

I’m surprised no waterfall SDR with 100w output from Chinese, all I have seen so far is a Chinese open source clone.

Secondly from an engineering and feature point of view how do Yaesu and Icom compare- looking for Lexus type build and reliability- rather than a Mercedes/Ford model reliability.

You need to look harder! Recently I sold a Yaesu FT757GX for £150 on eBay and it was working 100%.

I bought an Icom IC-9100 for £1500 a year ago which is 60% of new price and it was in perfect condition.
