I would like to sell my Pres Lincoln mk1 ..... but
The frequency dial will only increase the range regardless of which way the dial is turned. My local tv repair shop guy seems to know what the problem is & said can fix. Should I get it sorted or sell as it is ? Any idea of value either way ? I have the original box & manual.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the encoder is buggered or dirty. It will sell for £50-75 if repaired will be £130+ if it's a nice one. I'd send it to Nick or someone to sort for you

The encoders are easy to clean. They become an issue on many of the old Lincoln's when grime builds up inside and collects on the contacts which causes erratic skipping of frequencies while tuning. This could be what's causing your problem.
A good clean resolves the problem nine times out of ten and is easy to do yourself rather than pay someone.
