Re: New Kenwood HF/VHF Transceiver (TS-890S)
I had a decent play around with its big brother a year or so ago and was mightily impressed. By all accounts, this is just a slightly stripped down version. I look forward to the reviews on this one.
Now we just need Kenwood to update their shack in the box TS-2000. I've had one of these for years and while it's not fantastic and has its quirks, it's an extremely good all rounder, so a new and updated version would be high on my wish list!

In my opinion Kenwood or competitors should make 2/70 SSB rig. I have IC-275H and I would like to see radios like that produced in the future.

I believe Icom are about to launch a replacement for their 970. It has 23cms option of course.
It would be great to see Kenwood go back to their roots and design a VHF/UHF only rig,

970 too expensive. There is market niche for entry level uhf and vhf rigs. I wonder why no one fills that.

Have to agree, the market is flooded with dual band 2 and 70 FM sets, time for some good multimodes that are not shack in the box type radios.

There's likely not much demand for multimode VHF/UHF rigs these days. That's why manufactures don't make them. It's just not cost effective.
