K3NG Rotator Controller

Post by nay27uk »

Hi all.

I am wondering if anyone can tell me if the K3NG Rotator Controller supports the use of servos as motors? Servos are cheaper, have more torque, are a lot smaller than any equivalent stepper motor and are a lot lighter.

I am planing on using 2 of these servos for my homebrew Azimuth and Elevation rotatator

I cant seem to find any information on the actual supported motors for the K3NG Rotator Controller, the only info I could find is on the bellow link and very limited in details.

I am asuming that because the K3NG Rotator Controller supports PWM and a servo works via PWM that it would be OK.

Could anyone please shed some light on this for me and let me know if it works with servo motors or not.
