Sirio new tornado 27 antenna?
Sirio tornado 27 new. Worth considering? Seems great value in comparasion to other 10/11mtr verticals. Sirio 827 or sirio 2016 much difference and worth spending that bit more on one off them instead?

Re: Sirio new tornado 27 antenna?
Hi again John, right my honest opinion go for the 827,i had one up for years before i moved & foolishly sold it when i moved QTH,they are very over engineered & made to last.
Then i set up at my new location about 12 months ago & i bought a brand new Tornado 27,it was ok & performed very well,it also stood up to all weather including a couple of very gusty storms last winter.
Then one morning 2-3 weeks after a slightly gusty evening i awoke to find this,it had snapped clean off at the very base of the bottom section of the antenna itself which is held with a solid plastic type molding.
So my advice is pay the extra few quid & get the 827 John
PS/ excuse the garden next to mine, they are proper lazy slobs

Perfect great info, appreciatte that. tornado 27 is tempting price wise but not if it snaps and costs you ££ for a replacment !

I had the original versions of this antenna in the 80s made by Comtell and while it looks like Sirio have improved the insulator that would break its still a week point.
827 all the way for me.
