yaesu ft450d

Hi i want if possible to open my transceiver for the 60 metre band, ive seen various posts about this, but there seems to be different ways of doing this..i thought i ask here rather than rely on youtube videos..has any one perhaps got the above rig and done it..or know a dead cert way..

Do you mean for continual tuning? The UK version of the FT450D apparently has 7x 5MHz channels accessible, see page 14 of the manual. (Google will find it online, it's not downloading for me right now)

not sure if it helps but i had the same question about my IC-7000 and found a lot of (noise) info on the Internet about widebanding etc.

i only wanted to open up for the extra 5MHz band so by the end of the day called Icom UK and they told me exactly what to do and after the modification I only have the 5MHz band open as extra band to keep my IC-7000 as designed for and keeping the band edge beeps :)

so may be a quick call to Yaesu UK?

that's not opening up for 5MHz but widebanding for those freebanders forgetting that filtering is never being made for 27MHz, happy days

I read that you can change the preset 60m channels using chirp - but maybe thats just internet gossip

thanks guys, yes i found the settings so i could transmit on set 5 meg freqs..just been testing a halfwave doublet all working well..
