Icom 2730E fan advice

Hi all,

I am looking at buying an Icom 2730E dual bander, just wondering if anyone can comment on the rear fan setup? I have read comments on the internet that the fan is very noisey? Can it be switched off? I don't want it running all the time. I won't be using it at 50w so the radio won't be getting hot. Any info is greatly appreciated.

There is a 'quiet fan' mod on mods.dk, but I'm not wasting a credit having a look at I don't own one.

I have a 2730... The fan is not on all the time. there is a settings menu for its running.. Its not really that loud IMHO.
Yes it is a great radio you will love it... And yes there is a quiet fan mod if you really think you need it.
