Hi All,
I'm looking to buy an extended battery pack for my UV-5R. I've had a look around eBay and found loads of these batteries but they are all different makes. I am unsure which one to purchase as they are all random makes and not sure which ones may be rubbish (if any). Can anyone recommend or post a link to a battery that they use which has served them well.
Thanks in advance.

I think it's pot luck, some had lead weights in so even the seller may not be aware of what's inside them

I've found Radio Banker to be reliable. I think they also trade as 409shop.Lirrish wrote:Hi All,

Purchased one of the extended batteries for my UV-5R last year and it has been excellent.

To generalise, in my opinion they're all rubbish, some are slightly less rubbish than others, regardless of the name, they're all made in the same Chinese sweatshop for less than a Dollar each.
I can get a couple of days TX/RX from my 5R, so a few more mah isn't necessary, and it would double the weight of the thing.

I have ordered one of the car battery replacemetns (powered from the ciggy lighter socket) for a just in case situation, so I can leave it in the car.

Cheers for the replies guys. Yeah the impression I get is that they are all about the same sort of quality.
