Thats pretty good, but a comment from another radio forum site:delboyonline wrote:Nevada Radio have the FT991 on special offer:

Considering theres no import duty from EU countries, as far as I am aware, its probably a case of some UK dealers having to play "catch up" on favorable pricing, just to stay reasonably competitive, but welcome never the less!Currently thinking of a FT991 from WIMO, with the exchange rate it's £1057 including insured delivery

The 817 is 439 + cash-back, which is quite a drop from what they were. Not sure the reason for the drop in price. Could be a number of things.
Operating in South Northumberland and Weardale.

I believe that ML&S are now a factory appointed european service and warranty centre so it would make sense that they can accept and repair Yaesu kit under warranty from anywhere in Europe. If so then bringing kit in from European mainland is even more tempting!
Unless of course there is some stupid (UK only) selling regulation that somehow exempts them from responsibility!
I know of at least 3 European radio dealers selling the FT-991 for about the £1K price + delivery and one in the Netherlands that's under the £1K (HAMSHOP.COM) so even with Nevada's reduction, you are still saving a good whack by buying from Continent.
I was holding off until they had sorted out their firmware issues (which I believe they have done) and for the price to settle but I am tempted with one from europe.
