Ofcom Services Website
Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing difficulties with Ofcom's services website? I was blissfully unaware that my 5-year validation period had been and gone until I received a reminder in the mail this morning. Of course I want to keep my licence and went to their website right away to validate. However, after putting in all the required detail, when I log-in to the site, the licensing overview screen doesn't show my amateur licence. The list is empty and hitting both "refresh" buttons does nothing. Is this a temporary glitch or am I going to have to phone them about it?

It can be a troublesome site.
Ring them up, ask to speak to Cyndi Anafo. You will then hear a clattering of keys, and in seconds all will be sorted for another five years.
There is only one Cyndi.

Err! If your licence has expired, why would you expect it to be on the site??

Is it because OFCOM keep them in the database? "All licences issued during the past 8.5 years remain in the database."GW0DIV wrote:Err! If your licence has expired, why would you expect it to be on the site??

Re: Ofcom Services Website
Thanks for the input, all sorted now The licence hadn't actually expired, I just received a reminder saying I needed to validate as the 5-year period was coming to an end soon. I went back to the site to check before 'phoning, and my licence was showing up as expected so it's all valid now until 2019. I guess there is some lag between registering on the site and it updating your details? I just need to make sure I don't forget it again I might just go and validate every year on my birthday or something!

Thanks to The Ministry of (cough), I never lived in one place long enough for my licence to actually corpse, but it's nice to know that they actually send you a good old-fashioned reminder via Her Majesty's Royal Mail.
