:| I revalidate all three of my licences regularly ..... :?: Why keep two callsigns you don't use I hear someone cry ?

 Because they are mine ,I earned them and I don't wish someone else to pirate my old/former call signs .

:problem: Am I the only one who thinks it's a bad idea to release a list of revoked callsigns ? In my opinion someone who is unlicenced could just choose one at random and use it Worse still it will be difficult to catch the perpetrator without detection/investigation

Jeez look at that 3 out of the 7 pages are foundation callsign's,what the betting they are from cubs & kids who had no real interest in radio & only sat the foundation course because their grandaddy's pushed them into sitting the course just so they look good to others at their local club & to get the club mentioned in Radcomic.

Or went on to sit the intermediate or full and don't feel the need to keep hold of their old foundation call?

Like Adriano, I revalidate all three of mine every time but past discussions on this very forum have shown that the majority think this to be a bizarre and unexplainable practice... of course some of those folks may just be jealous that they only have one licence!

Why would you want to keep the old callsign? I never even realised you could hold two licenses or more at the same time - My old G8ZYX was dumped as soon as the new call came through. I thought everyone did this?

It's right there in the terms of the licence... Anyone who has never actually read their licence should have it revoked on principle!

No one will lose their licence, except the people who are losing their licences...

I would suggest that a large proportion of those m3 unvalidated licences are due to older hams giving up on the hobby due to health problems or silent keys more so than youngsters not wanting to bother.

Of course now Ofcom tells us we don't have to revalidate every 5 years.

M3's old? When I gave it up, I'd never even heard of M3 licenses - and I'm in my 50s on a G4? Perhaps M licenses just came around at one of the lull periods?
