Hi from Cannock UK crt9900 owner

Post by dmw2010 »

Hi there all I used to be on the rig 20 years ago and just got back into but need a little help with my set. It's the crt9900 or ss9900 I believe it's the same set just branded different. Ibe been wondering why me and my dad can only talk to each other (both have same rig) and no 1 else then yesterday I was told it's not set up right. We were using 27.185 channel 19 but been told it needs all the blocks setting up because 19 is now 27.78125. I've got the crt v2.1 software and the lead but where can I get a preconfigured dat file for it to get the most out of this set. I've been looking round the net with no luck. Does anyone have the same rig set up at its best that can read their dat file to get us going please.
Any help or advice much appreciated
Many thanx

Welcome to TM1.

27.185 is Channel 19 cept (Midband)
27.78125 is channel 19 UK.

Two different bands, You wont hear much on midband unless the skip is running. You might hear a few local breakers on 19 UK, But its not half as busy as it used to be, Cant help you with a programming file, But i'm sure someone will.

Welcome to the forum.
It's much more satisfying to do it yourself. It takes a bit of time tapping the frequencies in, but you end up with the radio exactly how you want it, and once you've saved the file you can upload to both radios to make them identical.

Hiya Admiral. Thanks for the list I've tried doing it myself but it doesn't let me put the last five in I can only put 27.7812 and when I view the file it adds an 0 and can't hear anyone else only us two. Did you used to live in the Midlands years ago or ever remember Shocker! Trevor he used to know an admiral

No mate, Admiral was never my CB handle, just a forum handle, I started off here as my wavey-navy nickname of 'Butch', but PLL02A got the wrong idea and started sending inappropriate messages so I changed it.
27.78120 will do just fine, maybe there just isn't anyone on near you these days, it's as lively as a kamikaze pilots reunion party around here on the muppets.

Hi Dave and welcome, CH19 UK in your location is the only channel for some and they like their power amps, you will find some decent breakers close to you if you can get past the rabble. I'll listen out for you
