Hi all,
my name is Tim Bucknall from Cheshire
I used to be a be a member here 600 years ago, but I lost my logins blah blah usual excuses
anyway I missed this place so I decided it was time to get it sorted
my main obsession is FM broadcast dx but i'm very grateful to have scanning, Mil air, sat com , cb , lpd,pmr etc when band 2 is dead
I post a lot of Bandscans on fmlist.info
and I contribute logs to the German magazine reflexion
I'm a sucker for these new cheap Chinese handies, I really like how they open up the scanning hobby, they're ideal 1st scanners and I wish they'd existed back in 1994 when I was getting into scanning
, I'm currently testing my Baofeng UV-5r to its limits on various hills in the peak district and having fun doing it
this my day job

Its getting time to replace and upgrade the mobile dxing set up, so i'm going to enjoy picking your brains & reading your reviews
on various matters
I have an Alinco DJ-x11e which would be the greatest handy in the world if not for an intermittent loss of power, i'm considering the Icom R20
while hoping that the threat of being replaced will make my alinco sort itself out:D
